MEASURING RING SIZE

Finding the right ring size is essential for both comfort and ensuring your ring fits perfectly. A ring that’s too tight or too loose can be uncomfortable and may slip off. To help you find the perfect fit, download our guide, which explains how to accurately measure your ring size step by step.

MEASURING BRACELET SIZE

To measure your bracelet size, wrap a soft measuring tape around your wrist where the bracelet will sit. Note the circumference in centimeters, then use our size chart to find the matching bracelet size.

FAQS

Keep in mind that the printable ring size chart is a helpful guide, but it’s not as precise as a professional measurement. For the most accurate fit, we recommend visiting one of our in-store experts.

If you happen to choose the wrong size, our skilled jewellers at Goldsmiths can resize the ring for you.

The exception to this service is eternity rings and certain gemstone rings, which cannot be resized due to their settings. However, these can be exchanged for the correct size.

When planning a surprise proposal, finding the perfect ring size can be a challenge on top of everything else, like the where, when, and how.

Here are a few discreet tips from our experienced team at Goldsmiths to help you secretly discover your partner’s ring size. Once you have the size, you’ll be ready to explore our wide range of diamond solitaire and gemstone engagement rings in various precious metals.

The easiest way is to “borrow” a ring your partner already wears. Since engagement rings are typically worn on the third finger of the left hand, it’s unlikely they already have a ring on that finger. Instead, borrow one worn on their middle finger and be ready to size down for a better fit.

After you’ve borrowed the ring, bring it to your nearest Goldsmiths showroom, where our experts can size match it for you.

If your partner might notice a missing ring, trace the inside of it on paper for an approximate size, and bring it to one of our UK stores for an estimate. If they’re a heavy sleeper, try using our Ring Size Guide at night for a quick measurement. You can also ask friends or family to discreetly help. If unsure, go for a slightly larger size—it’s easier to resize a bigger ring, and it’s better if the ring is a bit loose rather than too tight to fit.

If you discover that your ring or other jewelry piece is not fitting as expected—whether it’s too big or too small—don’t worry! Simply bring the item to one of our showrooms at your earliest convenience. Our team will assess the situation and either resize the piece to ensure a perfect fit or offer an exchange if resizing isn’t feasible. Our goal is to make sure you’re completely satisfied with your jewelry, and we’re here to help you achieve the ideal fit.
